Music Digest: October 2022
By: Emila Durma
Many quality albums and singles released this October, but the most notable was of course:
Midnights by Taylor Swift was definitely an experimental album and provided a fresh sound; and if you’re a fan of Reputation or Lover you will enjoy this album as well. However, if you are not a fan of those albums, this one may disappoint you. The lyricism is not up to par to that of Folklore nor is the production on par with 1989. The track list has some high highs with the likes of “You’re on your own, kid” and “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve”, but also some low lows, my personal least favorite being “Snow on the Beach”, poor execution coupled with even worse disappointment in the lack of Lana Del Rey in her supposed feature. 6/10 |
Notable SIngles
Some notably bad singles were an unreleased Juice WRLD track, “In My Head”— nothing special, unfortunately, Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock”— a song whose only saving grace is its production, and Blink 182’s— “Edging” which suffers mainly due to the work of Travis Baker. |
