Incredible performance Fiddler on the Roof
By: Audrie Schaubel
November 3rd through the 6th marked another fantastic musical production by Rosary with Fiddler on the Roof, a story about a town living a life of tradition and uncertainty. Thanks to the work of Mrs. Carron, Mrs. Biancalana, Mrs. Barr, and the fine arts department, Fiddler on the Roof was a huge success, blowing audience members away with superb singing and acting. Since this year was not the first time Rosary had presented Fiddler on the Roof, there were alumni in the audience that had been in the very same musical during their time at Rosary, and they were invited to sing with the songs. There was special recognition for Mrs. Wollwert, Mrs. Hoying, and Mrs. Gurbal who had all had a part in their production of Fiddler on the Roof.
As for this year’s production, there was an extremely talented cast with great performances all around. The leads were as follows, Ben Goddard as Tevye, May Regan as Golde, Cassidy Eddy and Molly Walter as Yente, and Sophia Cousins and Ellie Schubert as Tzeitel. These and all other cast and crew members worked extremely hard to achieve such amazing performances, especially during tech week, where they ran through performances each day. In an interview with Cassidy Eddy (Yente) towards the end of tech week, we get the inside perspective of what it is like for cast and crew members during that week. For her, getting ready for performances was “very exciting”, but it also “takes a toll” on all of the cast and crew because of how long and intense rehearsals are. Sleep is a rare treat for the members with how busy they are with a reported “four to six” hours of sleep each night of tech week. All of this hard work certainly paid off though, because the performances were fantastic. Congratulations to everyone involved in this year’s Fiddler on the Roof!
